Woman Pleads Innocent to Stabbing Her 2 Sons to Death
A woman pleaded innocent Friday to charges of stabbing her two sons to death in a motel room hours after learning she lost custody of them to their father.
Nila Wacaser, 38, of Kansas City stood silently in the Platte County Circuit Court room during her formal arraignment. Judge John Yeaman set a Feb. 22 trial date for Wacaser, who was being held without bond in the Platte County Jail.
Wacaser is accused of killing her sons, Jeremy Williams, 11, and Eric Williams, 8, after she learned that a judge had granted legal custody to her ex-husband, Bobby L. Williams. The boys’ bodies were found at a Motel 6 about half a mile from the woman’s home north of the Missouri River.
Police found the boys’ bodies the night of Aug. 28 after receiving an anonymous tip that the children might be in danger. Officers said when they arrived at Wacaser’s home, they found her wearing blood-spattered clothing and holding a fillet knife. Police went to the motel after finding a hotel key in Wacaser’s purse.
