A 50-year-old man was killed and two teen-age boys were shot Sunday in separate drive-by shootings, police said.

Police Lt. Jack Nelson said Rogelio Romero was standing on his front porch in the 1700 block of South Cedar Street at 1:35 p.m. when a pickup truck stopped in front of the house and one shot was fired. Romero, who was shot in the head, died immediately.

Nelson said witness accounts of the shooting were sketchy and investigators had not yet found a motive or a suspect.

In the second incident, two boys were shot in front of a home in the 700 block of South Kilson Drive about 7:30 p.m. Nelson said the teen-agers were hit by gunshots fired from a passing car.

One of the boys was wounded in the leg and the other in the back. Both were taken to the trauma center at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.

Their condition was unavailable, a nursing supervisor said Sunday night.
