The pilot of the military jet that lost power and crashed into a Ramada Inn in Indianapolis, killing nine people and injuring five, was back at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, and a hotel maid who was burned in the accident was released from a hospital. A salesman remained in critical condition at Wishard Memorial Hospital with burns over 95% of his body. The others were treated and released. Pilot Bruce L. Teagarden, 35, will be grounded at least until the Air Force investigation is completed, said Col. William H. Johnson. The grounding is standard procedure in such cases, Air Force officials said. The pilot remains distraught and “will not fly until a flight surgeon determines that he is emotionally and physically able,” Johnson said.
