The more things change, the less they change. At least that’s the bottom line of a recent Screen Actors Guild job study. Report results appearing in Daily Variety on Monday claim that the average female SAG member earned 38% less than her average male counterpart did last year. The picture worsens for SAG members over 40, with female members in this category earning 46% less than their male peers. Overall, guild females averaged salaries of $7,684 last year compared to $12,433 for males. Still, SAG officials say women have made some progress, landing 2% more acting roles than five years ago.
