Local News in Brief : Gang Members Sentenced
Nine street gang members have been sentenced to state prison or the County Jail for beating up three jurors and trying to intimidate a witness outside a Compton courtroom where a preliminary hearing was being held for two fellow gang members, prosecutors said.
The nine pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to dissuade a witness and three counts of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.
William Pierce, 23, was sentenced to three years in prison, while Louis Carter, 23, Carl E. Gowdy, 18, Cliffon Beo, 20, and Troy Green, 19, were each sentenced to two years in prison. Sam Lockhart, 20, Theatis Savannah, 21, Brian Brown, 21, and Frederick C. Green, 21, were each sentenced to one year in the County Jail and three years’ probation.
