At Hollywood’s Paramount Theater the original 1932 “Frankenstein”--starring Boris Karloff as the monster--will screen at midnight. Preceding the show, prizes will be awarded in a costume contest open to those dressed up like Frankenstein or his bride. Information: (213) 463-3264. At Mann’s Chinese in Hollywood, there will be a midnight screening of the original “Nightmare on Elm Street.” Festivities preceding the show will take place in the theater courtyard. Robert Englund, who plays Freddy Krueger in the film, will be there (without his costume), as will KIIS-FM deejay Hollywood Hamilton, who will broadcast live from the station’s new 30-foot-long mobile studio. He’ll host a 10 p.m. costume contest. Frankenstein, the Phantom of the Opera, a green witch and a ghoul--on loan from the Hollywood Wax Museum--will be on display.
