West Hollywood : AIDS Program Approved
The City Council approved an AIDS program for municipal workers that includes a catastrophic illness fund under which the city will match voluntary donations by its employees of up to $1,500 a quarter.
Other provisions include health care insurance that guarantees benefits for up to a year, flexible work schedules and counseling services.
A city spokesman said West Hollywood has spent more than $900,000 to provide educational and social services to people with acquired immune deficiency syndrome and related diseases since the city was incorporated three years ago.
