A stockbroker in the San Diego branch of a Wall Street firm was sentenced Monday to three months in jail for possessing cocaine.

Marshall Klein, 25, a broker with Brooks, Weinger, Robbins & Leeds, was also placed on five years’ probation by U.S. District Judge William Enright.

Enright gave him a three-year prison term, but suspended 2 years and 9 months of that sentence. Klein also was fined $2,000.

Klein was arrested last May while carrying 1.5 ounces of cocaine and was accused of selling the drug to his fellow stockbrokers. He was suspended without pay after his arrest.

The judge allowed Klein to remain free until after Thanksgiving, and he is due to surrender Nov. 30.
