Whittier : High School Up for Award
Whittier High School is the only school in the Southeast area to be nominated for the 1987-88 Distinguished Secondary School Award of the California Department of Education.
Schools were nominated for showing improvement in test scores, academic courses and reduced dropout rates. A selection committee of state and local educators will review the 120 schools nominated and select semifinalists late this year.
