Israeli tennis player Amos Mansdorf said he and Davis Cup teammate Shlomo Glickstein would renege on an agreement not to play in South Africa.
Mansdorf said he and Glickstein only signed the statement denouncing apartheid and pledging not to play in South Africa in order to gain visas to India for the David Cup quarterfinals in New Delhi last July.
“We were forced to sign the anti-apartheid agreement, but neither Shlomo or I feel in any way bound by it,” Mansdorf said.
