‘Global Glue Is Up to Us’

Now we have the likes of Lee ($20 million per year) Iacocca, telling us how to cut the deficit in half. Here we have a man who rides to the bank in glory because the taxpayers of America subsidized the rebuilding of his company, only now to hear that he will have to lay off 3,000 white-collar workers.

Yes, there is a definite insanity and double standard. The insanity of one man making $20 million in one year, and now telling 3,000 of the Chrysler employees who helped make his salary possible that for Christmas they have no job. A double standard in the way our President and his chosen men can pick and choose what constitutional laws they will ignore this month while the rest of the citizenry is taxed to support their “off the shelf” governments and “trickle down” economic policies.

I wonder how many of those white-collar jobs might be saved if Iacocca would be willing to perhaps take a slight cut in pay. Could he “get by” on just $2 million?
