Grateful Dead drummer William Kreutzmann is being sued for $10 million on allegations that he beat up Matthew Kelley, leader of the rock ‘n’ roll band Kingfish, in 1985. Kelly testified before a Marin County judge recently that he is unable to father children as a result of the beating, which allegedly occurred while Kreutzmann toured with the band for several months. Kelly claims that Kreutzmann beat him in a dispute over money after a rock show in Denver. Both Kreutzmann and his attorney, Michael Senneff, declined to comment.
