Managua Launches Drive Against Contras

MANAGUA, Nicaragua —
The government ended a unilateral cease-fire in three areas of the country and launched a new offensive against the U.S.-backed Contras, the official newspaper Barricada said Monday.
Barricada said specialized counterinsurgency battalions and regular army troops north of Nueva Guinea, 110 miles southeast of Managua, began the offensive before dawn Saturday, the day the monthlong unilateral cease-fires declared by the government expired.
