5 Trapped in Collapse of Building

NEW YORK —
A five-story building undergoing structural repairs collapsed today in Greenwich Village, pinning five occupants under tons of rubble and critically injuring two of them.
The building collapsed moments after workers renovating the lower two floors of a funeral home felt vibrations and fled. The establishment’s owners lived on the third and fourth floors, another couple on the fifth. Rescuers worked in a sleet storm to pull the victims from the wreckage.
