Western Union Corp. adjourned its annual meeting to give shareholders more time to vote on a key aspect of a reorganization plan that company officials have said could keep the company out of bankruptcy proceedings. The Saddle River, N.J., firm said the meeting was adjourned until Tuesday “to provide time to tabulate votes and permit as many stockholders as possible to express their wishes.” Shareholders have been asked to approve a merger of the firm and its principal unit, Western Union Telegraph Co.
