Judge Ginsburg Withdraws

Share

For the second time this century, we have painted ourselves into the same uncomfortable corner by criminalizing the use of a substance that is popular with a large segment of the population. This time that segment was young and powerless. Now many languish in jails or live lives handicapped by criminal records, while others, differing only in their good luck in not getting caught, lead lives of honor and even power.

Will our choice of leaders from this generation, now reaching middle age, lie between those who, in their youth, comprised the pious and/or fearful minority, and those of the lying and hypocritical majority?
