Two Los Angeles police officers, accused of engaging in a bar brawl with Maricopa County, Ariz., deputy sheriffs, have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and paid fines of $137 each.

Officers Ty Richmond and Hank Cousine, who entered their pleas in Northwest Phoenix Justice Court, initially were charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault in an incident April 3 at a Black Angus restaurant in Phoenix. The fight broke out a day before a charity football game between the Los Angeles Police Department and law enforcement officers from Phoenix.

Under a plea bargain, the charges were reduced to disorderly conduct.

Police Cmdr. William Booth said that “appropriate disciplinary action” had been taken against Richmond and Cousine. Booth said the law prohibited him from discussing details.
