Net income more than tripled during fiscal 1987 for Tustin-based Silicon Systems, climbing to $2.8 million from $87,000 the previous year. Revenues increased 22% for the year ended Sept. 26, to $81.8 million from $66.8 million. For the fourth quarter ended Sept. 26, 1987, net income totaled $1.5 million, a decrease from the $1.8 million posted a year earlier, which included a non-recurring tax benefit. Revenues were $24.1 million, up 22% from the $19.7 million of a year ago. New orders entered set annual and quarterly records for the company at $89.7 million and $26 million, respectively. Year-end backlog was $33.3 million. Silicon Systems designs and manufactures integrated circuits for specific applications in the telecommunications, computer peripheral and industrial markets.
