A robber who has taken money from at least 10 banks across the county since July struck again Monday morning, fleeing with $1,500 from a bank in Del Mar Heights, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

At 11:45 a.m., a man entered the Del Mar Heights branch of Great Western Bank in the 2700 block of Via de la Valle. He presented the teller with a demand note, took the money and fled on foot, Robinson said.

He often presents the teller with a demand note inside an envelope and has threatened the teller but shown no weapon, Robinson said.

The man was last seen wearing a brown baseball cap with SU-2000 written on it and a brown pullover shirt with orange stripes.

In the last few months, he is suspected of robbing banks in East San Diego, La Jolla, Encinitas, Chula Vista, Solana Beach and Carlsbad.

Anyone with information is asked to call 235-TIPS anonymously. Information resulting in conviction could net the caller up to $1,000.
