George Michael’s “Faith” is the hottest new album on the Billboard magazine pop chart. It debuted last week at No. 41 and this week shot up to No. 15. INXS’ new one, “Kick,” is almost as hot. After just three weeks on the chart, it’s already No. 20. Tiffany’s album, “Tiffany,” leaped four places to No. 16. But since her single, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” has peaked--it slipped to No. 4 from No. 1. For a while it looked like Earth, Wind & Fire would never record again. But EWF fooled everyone. “Touch the World,” No. 46 after just two weeks, proves that leader Maurice White hasn’t lost his commercial touch. “A Very Special Christmas,” the album featuring all those stars, jumped 10 notches to No. 47. “(I’ve Had) the Time of My Life,” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes--from the “Dirty Dancing” sound track--is the new No. 1 single, joining the album at the top. Debbie Gibson has her second Top 10 single with “Shake Your Love,” up four places to No. 10.

* Those who predicted George Harrison’s new album would die a horrible death were dead wrong. “Cloud Nine,” which entered the album chart last week at No. 77, shot up to No. 23. His fast-rising single, “Got My Mind Set on You” (No. 19), is boosting album sales.
