Local News in Brief : Laguna Beach : Caltrans Director to Discuss Traffic Issues
Keith McKean, Caltrans director for Orange County, on Monday will discuss traffic issues in the city and its environs during a meeting of Village Laguna, a community environmental organization.
The group’s president, Sinclair Jones, said McKean will discuss the state Department of Transportation’s position on widening or realigning Laguna Canyon Road between El Toro Road and the San Diego Freeway.
McKean also will address these areas:
- The junction of Coast Highway and Broadway.
- The proposed widening of Coast Highway and installation of signals between Morro Beach, just north of Laguna Beach, and Crown Valley Parkway in the south.
- Possible road improvements for vehicle and pedestrian traffic at Broadway and Cliff Drive; road improvements on Laguna Canyon Road from Big Bend to Coast Highway.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 1248 Morningside Drive in Laguna Beach.
