Spanish police sent up helicopters and erected roadblocks in a search for the last two members of a gang that kidnaped a Lebanese millionaire’s 5-year-old daughter and held her hostage for 11 days in a bid for a multimillion-dollar ransom. Police also said two of six arrested gang members are recent prison escapees and at least three of the men were previously involved in kidnapings. A special police unit rescued Melodie Nakachian before dawn on Friday, storming an apartment in San Roque, near Gibraltar. The two fugitive French suspects evaded arrest by abandoning their car in the town of San Pedro de Alcantara and fleeing on foot. Police said not a cent was paid of the ransom demand, which initially was $13 million and was finally reduced to $2 million
