Is Destroying a Computer a ‘Peaceful’ Activity?

The Los Angeles Times continues to amaze me. Only you guys would think of doing a feature on anti-nuclear activist, child-of-the-cosmos, just-visiting-Earth Katya Komisaruk on Veterans Day--a two-page spread on this fool who breaks onto an Air Force base and vandalizes millions of dollars worth of equipment (equipment unrelated to any nuclear weapons, so Komisaruk was thwarted in her stated intent, but I guess if it’s military it’s good enough to be trashed by Katya).

Your article’s sympathetic tone was unmistakable. It’s OK to trash government property, particularly anything military, as long as a person claims to be moved by conscience and a desire for peace.

I personally hope that this woman serves every one of the 3,650 days of incarceration that she faces. This being California, however, she will probably be elected to the state Legislature. Your article did provide one small service though; it gave me just another piece of ammunition to use when someone tells me how the anti-nuclear/peace-at-any-price movement is made up of responsible individuals.
