The UNICEF-World Hunger Year fund-raising radio broadcast Saturday raised more than $260,000, organizers said Sunday. The “Children of the Americas Hunger-Thon,” a live four-hour satellite broadcast, was hosted by Graham Nash and featured James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Steven Stills, David Crosby, Jethro Tull and others. The benefit alternated between acts playing at the United Nations in New York and the Roxy in Los Angeles (it was carried in Los Angeles on KLSX-FM). The World Hunger Year program was founded by the late pop singer, Harry Chapin.
