Local News in Brief : Laguna Beach : Community Clinic Asks for Donations
The Laguna Beach Community Clinic is asking that people send it their California tax rebate checks.
The clinic has had a cutback in government funding, according to a spokeswoman, and needs private donations to continue its medical, counseling and legal assistance services. The clinic also operates a crisis and sexual-assault program that provides a 24-hour hot line.
The clinic expects to serve about 14,000 patients this fiscal year on a budget of about $500,000.
