The search was suspended for a herring fisherman and his young grandson, missing from their wrecked 32-foot boat Rosa B. on the rocks about two miles north of Pigeon Point on the San Mateo County coast, the Coast Guard reported. The search on the beaches and over the chilly inshore waters of the rugged coast was called off pending further information on the fate of Francisco Billante and his grandson, Tobi Collum, 15, officials said. Coast Guard spokesman Ray Massey said the boat, upside down and showing considerable damage, was spotted a few hours after it was reported overdue at San Francisco in a scheduled trip from Moss Landing, 80 miles south.
