Rudman’s Son’s Car Kills Man in Road; No Charge Is Filed

PALMYRA, Pa. —
A car driven by the son of Sen. Warren B. Rudman (R-N.H.) struck and killed a man who was trying to retrieve a hubcap, police said.
A state police spokesman said Alan H. Rudman, 28, of Nashua, N.H., was not charged in the accident Monday evening in which Joseph S. Zelno, 65, of Eynon, Pa., was killed.
The accident occurred after Zelno’s car swerved to avoid a deer and hit a guardrail, losing a hubcap, police said. Zelno then crossed the highway to retrieve the hubcap and apparently was struck by Rudman’s Porsche.
