San Gabriel : Ramirez Enters GOP Race

Ralph Roy Ramirez, 50, an insurance agent and business consultant, has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 30th Congressional District.
Ramirez, who lives in San Gabriel, came within 200 votes of winning a special election for the seat in 1982, losing to Democrat Matthew G. Martinez, who still holds the office. Ramirez formerly served as administrative director of the state Division of Industrial Accidents.
