Monterey Park : Night Parking Ban Delayed
The City Council has decided to wait until January before taking action on a proposal to ban all-night parking on city streets. Interim City Manager David Bentz said the delay will give the public time to comment on the plan.
Police Chief Robert W. Collins said an all-night parking ban would make it easier to sweep streets and identify stolen cars, but opposition is expected from residents. Collins suggested that the city could issue free permits to residents who have no place to park near their homes except on the street.
