HIV Positive

Thank you for “HIV Positive: An Uncertain Future” (by Lynn Simross, Nov. 17). Clearly those people testing sero-positive who can share that information with family and friends without fear of rejection are far better off than those who must keep their status secret. The fear of being cut off from support systems is just one of the horrors of the AIDS epidemic.

Thank you for listing sources of support in the side bar story. Please also pass on to your readers the information that the AIDS Services Center of All Saints Episcopal Church offers three weekly support groups, which divide into sub-groups for people with AIDS, their families, care givers, the bereaved, and those testing sero-positive. Each group is facilitated by at least one licensed mental health professional. The groups are offered without charge and are open to anyone.

The groups meet Wednesdays at 7 p.m., Fridays at 6:15, and Sundays at 3:30. All Saints Church is at 132 N. Euclid St., Pasadena.
