The pro-Iranian Revolutionary Justice Organization said that it would release two French captives in Lebanon within 24 hours. The group delivered an Arabic-language statement to the Beirut newspaper, An Nahar, shortly before midnight, along with a picture of French hostage Jean-Louis Normandin. Normandin, 36, a French television technician, was kidnaped in Muslim West Beirut on March 8, 1986. The statement did not name the hostages the group planned to set free. There are at least 22 foreigners, including eight Americans, missing after being kidnaped in Lebanon.
