Local News in Brief : Big Fee on Home Project
The Pasadena Board of Directors has imposed a $384,000 park and recreation fee on the developer of a controversial 184-unit housing development.
The board agreed to the fee to alleviate the burden on park and recreation facilities that would be caused by the proposed Rose Townhomes project.
H. Scott Howell, vice president of Calmark Development Corp., the developer, said the fee was a “heavy blow” that might make the project economically unfeasible.
The Rose Townhomes project has been vigorously opposed by nearby residents who say that Calmark is planning to build too many homes on the 16.4-acre site, one of the largest undeveloped parcels in the city.
