AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: David Bowie has taped most of his Australian concert tour for an upcoming ABC-TV special, tentatively scheduled to air early next year. Is it possible ABC could be considering running the show on a Tuesday after “Moonlighting?” . . . The Vinnie Vincent Invasion will be back early next year with a new album titled “All Systems Go.” Included will be a house-rockin’ cover of “The Pink Panther Theme.” . . . There have been so many (fill in the blank) aid concerts recently that you probably missed the 14-hour Self-Aid show in Dublin last year. But the tape was rolling--and now MCA’s releasing a live album of the concert, due out in early January. The record features U2’s version of “Maggie’s Farm,” Elvis Costello’s rendition of “Many Rivers to Cross,” Van Morrison’s “Here Comes the Night,” the Pogues’ “Dirty Old Town,” the Boomtown Rats’ “Looking For No. 1” and the Chieftains’ “Boil the Breakfast Early.” All royalties go to a special trust set up to provide jobs for the Irish unemployed. . . . And Adam Ant (remember him?) will make his TV sitcom debut Dec. 10 on “Sledge Hammer!”
