NCAA Soccer : UCLA Plays San Diego St. Today
The UCLA soccer team will play host to San Diego State in a quarterfinal match of the NCAA tournament at 1 p.m. today on UCLA’s North Soccer Field.
The Bruins (14-6-1) reached the third round on a pass when their scheduled opponent, Nevada Las Vegas, was removed from the tournament for using an ineligible player. In the first round, UCLA defeated Fresno State, 1-0, on Nov. 15.
San Diego State (18-5) advanced by defeating St. Louis, 2-1, and SMU, 4-3. Both wins came on penalty kicks.
UCLA became the top-seeded team in the Far West Regional when it defeated San Diego State, 3-1, on Nov. 4 at Aztec Bowl.
