Edmund Muskie has gone show biz. The former Democratic senator from Maine, former Secretary of State and one-time presidential hopeful and Tower Commission member has a featured role in “Claws,” a film short-turned-home video that spoofs the theatrical “Jaws.” The project, from a Maine-based film-making group, Crustaceans Inc., chronicles the exploits of lobster-tracking tourists Bob and Blanch Bumberson who travel through Maine in search of the state’s best-known exports. Muskie demonstrates techniques for taming a big lobster. Fellow Mainer, Olympic marathon gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson, is shown whipping up a lobster salad.
