After finding bomb components and drugs in a Mira Mesa home, authorities arrested the resident on suspicion of narcotics violations, the Metro Arson Strike Team reported Monday.

Detective Denis Love said after officers served a search warrant at a Capricorn Way address in Mira Mesa Friday, they found bomb components and “various types of narcotics.” He declined to be more specific.

“After the search, we let beat officers in the area know what we were trying to find out, and on Sunday they observed a van being loaded and notified us,” Love said.

Love said officers stopped the driver of the van and four passengers on Interstate 15 near California 163. He said drugs, but no explosives, were found in the van. Martin Edward Walters, 19, was arrested. The passengers and van were released at the scene, he said.

Walters was released from County Jail Sunday night on a $5,000 bond, a jail spokeswoman said. The investigation is continuing.
