Former Rep. Abraham Kazen Jr. of Texas Dies

AUSTIN, Tex. — Former Rep. Abraham Kazen Jr. of Laredo, a Democrat who represented South Texas and San Antonio in Congress for 18 years, has died at the age of 68.
Kazen, who had been hospitalized since Thanksgiving Day, died Sunday, said hospital officials, who declined to disclose the cause of death.
Kazen was elected to Congress in 1966 after serving in the Texas Legislature from 1947 until 1966.
