The Israeli court trying alleged nuclear spy Mordechai Vanunu rejected a defense plea to dismiss his case and free him Tuesday when his trial resumed after a three-month recess.

Attorney Avigdor Feldman said he told the Jerusalem court, sitting behind closed doors, that the prosecution had failed to prove charges of treason and espionage against Vanunu, accused of passing Israeli nuclear secrets to a British newspaper.
