8 Promoted at Disneyland; 2 With Park Since Opening

Disneyland announced eight promotions Wednesday, including moves involving two executives who have been with the Anaheim amusement park since it opened in 1955.

Jack Lindquist, executive vice president of marketing and entertainment for Walt Disney Attractions, has been promoted to executive vice president, creative marketing concepts, for Walt Disney Attractions, which oversees operations of Disneyland and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Lindquist was Disneyland’s first ad manager. He was named director of marketing in 1965 and then director of marketing for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Ron Dominguez, who joined Disneyland as a ticket taker in 1955, has been promoted to executive vice president. He was named director of operations in 1970 and vice president of Disneyland in 1974.

In addition, Bob McTyre has been promoted to vice president of marketing/entertainment/sales for Disneyland; Bob Phelps has been named vice president of costuming for Walt Disney Attractions, and John Cora has been promoted to vice president of operations for Disneyland.

McTyre joined Disneyland in 1982 as director of entertainment. In 1985, he became director of marketing and entertainment, with the sales division responsibilities added in August, 1987.

Phelps began his Disney career in 1968 as manager of Disneyland wardrobe and costuming. In 1970, he was named corporate manager for costuming at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In 1974 he was promoted to director of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World costume division.

Cora joined Disneyland in 1962 as a parking lot host. He became an operations manager in 1974 and in 1984 was named director of theme-park operations.

Mark Feary has been promoted to director of marketing/sales, and Mike Davis has been named director of entertainment for Disneyland. Bob Gault has been promoted to general manager of Disneyland park operations.
