Just a Rematch Between Two Three-Time Losers

Share

It’s not enough that the Rose Bowl will be a pathetic rematch of two teams which are three-time losers. Although there are no less than five other college bowl games scheduled for New Year’s Day, they are scheduled so that the Rose Bowl has no competition for much of its time slot.

Football aficionados will have to find other ways to occupy themselves while they are waiting for the Orange Bowl, which will feature two undefeated teams going for the national championship. And that game will be up against the Sugar Bowl, an interesting match-up of undefeated Syracuse and SEC champ Auburn.

Here is a suggestion to increase interest in the Rose Bowl: Switch teams with the California Bowl so that San Jose State and Eastern Michigan, who really have more deserving records, can come to Pasadena while USC and Michigan State play in Fresno, an appropriate venue for the quality of their teams.
