The Nation : FAA Probes Alleged Cheating by AF Pilots on Exam
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating allegations that as many as 30 Air Force pilots cheated on a flight engineer’s written exam aimed at qualifying them for civilian airline jobs, an FAA spokesman said. The Miami Herald quoted an unidentified source as saying the cheating was done with the help of an FAA inspector. Among those involved is Charles Michael Chinn, an unidentified source told the Herald. He served as an examiner for the flight engineer’s test and gave the answers in advance to as many as 30 applicants, the newspaper quoted the source as saying. Chinn is cooperating with authorities, but he has been temporarily relieved of his inspector’s job.
