Designer Babies

Regarding “The Designer Babies Are Growing Up” (by Katherine Lowry, Nov. 1): Maybe we could set up a sperm bank with donations from saints and wise men, healers and poets, the gentle and the kind. Then, maybe we’d find ourselves raising bright and beautiful children who’d question the reason for intelligence and who’d discover that without compassion, intellectual pyrotechnics is a hollow gift indeed.
