Michelle Phillips faces a Dec. 23 pretrial hearing in Amarillo, Tex., on marijuana possession charges. Amarillo Department of Public Safety spokesman Jerry Bergtorf said Phillips, 43, was arrested Wednesday west of Amarillo on Interstate 40 after her companion, Geoffrey Tozer, was pulled over for speeding. Troopers said Tozer was pulled over and ticked for speeding, but the DPS would not say why the car was searched. Phillips was booked into the Potter County Corrections Center and released on $500 bond late Wednesday night, Potter County Attorney Bill Baumann said. The actress and former singer with the Mamas and the Papas pleaded not guilty to the possession charge, waived her arraignment rights and then left Amarillo, Baumann said.
