Tinseltown is coming to Cajun Country. So is the Blob. Filming begins next month in Abbeville, La., on a remake of the 1958 horror classic. When the carnivorous, extra-terrestrial gelatinous mass was first unleashed, Steve McQueen and Aneta Coursaut (a. k. a. Helen Crump on “The Andy Griffith Show”) battled the goo as it oozed through an unsuspecting town. Director Chuck Russell (“Nightmare on Elm Street III”) promises “a better Blob,” because of improved special effects.
