ALGIERS, La. —
Ten Colombian stowaways who hid aboard a bulk cargo carrier for a week were in the custody of the Border Patrol, officials said Monday.
A St. James Parish deputy spotted the men, aged 17 to 21, after they jumped from the Motorship Clipper Confidence near a grain elevator Sunday. They were to be transferred from the Border Patrol station to Orleans Parish Prison until they are deported to Colombia in several days, authorities said.
