Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Man Missing From Facility Found Slain
A 59-year-old man, last seen leaving a mental health facility Monday afternoon, was found slain five hours later, police said Tuesday.
Police said the victim, whose name was not released pending family notification, appeared to have been beaten to death.
Lt. Steve Brace said a passer-by noticed the man’s body lying in bushes in the 200 block of South Beach Boulevard about 6 p.m. Monday and summoned police.
Brace said the victim had last been seen alive at about 1 p.m. as he exited a mental health facility at 501 S. Beach Blvd.
Police identified the facility as Therapeutic Residential Center, a county-funded operation that houses individuals on private or subsidized funding.
The coroner’s office is still investigating the exact cause of the man’s death, but Brace said the victim “apparently was beaten to death.”
