Israeli soldiers, cornered by protesters hurling metal pipes and stones, shot and killed two Palestinian boys, 11 and 17, during a second successive day of violent demonstrations in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. At least 14 other protesters and eight members of the Israeli security forces were injured in the clashes. When tear gas and rubber bullets failed to disperse the demonstrators in Nablus, the cornered soldiers opened fire, killing Ibrahim Aklek, 17, of Nablus, and wounding two others, Palestinian and military sources said. The 11-year-old boy died after being wounded in a clash in the Gaza Strip. The protests followed Wednesday’s fatal shooting of a high school student and the wounding of at least 28 people in Gaza Strip disturbances.
