Death Sentence in Slaying of 5

A 21-year-old gang member was sentenced to death today for the 1984 slayings of five teen-agers in what authorities called the bloodiest act of gang violence in Los Angeles history.
Superior Court Judge Ronald E. Cappai sentenced Keith Tyrone Fudge to death in the gas chamber for the “54th Street Massacre” slayings at a South-Central Los Angeles birthday party. Cappai called the slayings “a carnage of innocent human beings.”
