Israel took a great risk in scrapping its costly Lavi warplane project in favor of U.S. aircraft, the editor of Jane’s All the World’s Aircraft said in its new edition published on Thursday.

“A nation that pursues international policies as controversial as those of Israel runs great risks in relying on combat aircraft purchased overseas,” John Taylor said in a foreword to the 1987-88 catalogue.
