Good News for Clippers’ Joe Wolf
Forward Joe Wolf of the Clippers is expected to be out for three weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove torn cartilage from his right knee Friday.
“It was what I’d hoped for. It was a minor cartilage tear,” said Dr. Tony Daly. who performed the 20-minute operation. “He went home after the operation and he’s going to begin rehabilitation right away. He should be back in three weeks.”
Coach Gene Shue said the Clippers may bring in a player from the Continental Basketball Assn. to replace Wolf.
Meanwhile, the team will try for its second straight win over the Seattle SuperSonics tonight in Seattle (Channel 5, 7:30). The Clippers beat the SuperSonics, 113-96, Thursday night at the Sports Arena.
The SuperSonics (9-9) have won their last five home games. The Clippers (7-10) will play at Sacramento Tuesday night.
